What is the Net-Zero Challenge?
The Net-Zero Challenge encourages businesses to create and implement credible plans to transition their operations to net-zero emissions by 2050. Canada is committed to reducing emissions by 40-45% by 2030 and putting Canada on a path to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.
Our Path to Net-Zero
Northern Energy Capital joined the Net-Zero Challenge in February 2023 to align our internal operations with Canada’s emissions reduction targets, reinforcing our broader mission to advance renewable energy transitions in remote, diesel-dependent communities.
After 12-months, we determined our 2023 emissions baseline and developed a Preliminary Net-Zero Plan with net-zero emissions targets for 2050 and earlier. As of February 2025, we have developed a Comprehensive Net-Zero Plan with interim reduction targets and strategic measures to reduce emissions, enhance energy efficiency, and integrate sustainable solutions into our operations.
